Why VEKA?

VEKA is a global brand with many years of experience. Its professionalism is confirmed excellent references given by the clients. The company has been operating on the European market for 40 years. As the safety of the products users is most important for the company, VEKA obtained all available certificates and attestations.

Why choose class A profiles?

Only class A profiles (according to PN-EN 12608 standard, profile external wall thickness ≥ 2.8 mm) meet the high quality requirements. This is a key parameter for optimum protection of residents against cold and noise, providing at the same time stability and durability of windows.

VEKA is the only system supplier in Poland to manufacture exclusively class A profiles. Since there is no possibility of testing the profile class in a finished window, VEKA clients have the exclusive confidence in purchasing windows with class A profiles. Moreover, VEKA profiles have the RAL mark awarded by the Association for Quality of Plastic Window Systems, which sets very strict standards for manufacturers.

Differences between class A and B profiles.

The features inferior in class B profiles in comparison with class A profiles:

  • Window corners are 20-30% weaker, therefore the maximum permissible window dimensions should be smaller. Windows are exposed to corner fractures at welds to a greater extent.
  • Acoustic insulation of windows is worse by 1–4 dB, which increases the level of noise in rooms.
  • Thermal insulation of windows is lower as a result of thinner material and smaller chamber capacity.
  • Anti-burglary resistance of windows may be lower because certain hinge screws do not meet the steel reinforcements of profiles (the screws go to PVC). Such windows will not reach the WK 2 anti-burglary resistance level).
  • The resistance to tearing out bolts used for fastening fittings is lower by up to 20%.
  • The susceptibility to “adjustment” to stress distribution is higher. As a result, the connections with fixed mullion are weaker and the performance of fittings is worse.
  • The risk of forming window frame distortions after glazing is higher.

European CE Mark
Windows should be labelled with the European CE Mark in accordance with PN-EN 14351-1. Every window manufacturer using the European CE Mark must have the “Certificate of Compliance”. It contains all technical and mechanical data of the product.

Control check
The manufactured window joinery should be checked in a specialist research laboratory.

Certified fittings
Fittings should be certified by the independent institute ift Rosenheim, in accordance with the QM 328 system.

Gaskets compliant with the European standard
Gaskets should be compliant with the European Standard specified as PN-EN 12361-1.

Why should the window have steel reinforcement?

One of the factors, which determine the reliability of windows based on VEKA profiles, are properly thick steel reinforcements filling the frame and sash.

In order to ensure maximum durability and statics, VEKA – as the only system supplier in Poland – placed a chamber to apply closed steel reinforcements in all its window frame profiles.

Steel reinforcements in VEKA window frame profiles have double folded steel so as to maintain proper stiffness during opening. This is a unique solution in the window technology.

Windows made of profiles secured in this manner have excellent static properties and are comfortable in use. Windows with standard solutions or synthetic reinforcements (e.g. glass fibre) do not achieve such high parameters.

The window profile must be equipped with reinforcements throughout the length and width of frame and sash.

What should be noted during joinery assembly?

Proper assembly of woodwork is one of the most important factors for the long-term, trouble-free and pleasant use. It ensures transfer of load from the joinery to the building, dilatation of mutual deformations of the structure and building, including proper insulation; as Also, it eliminates discomfort of the future user due to improper functioning of windows. Assembly completed contrary to the best construction practices may lead to a distortion of construction elements of window frames or sashes, blocking lock elements or, in most extreme cases, to destruction of joinery.

Basic assembly principles:

  • Prior to taking the decision of performing the assembly on your own, answer the following questions: Do you or the person responsible for the assembly have enough experience?
  • We recommend using the services of experienced assembly teams of the supplier.
  • It is necessary to prepare required tools (in good technical condition) and materials prior to the assembly.
  • If you are disassembling the existing windows, start by removing the sashes and then remove the frame.
  • Prior to beginning the assembly of a new window, remove the sashes from the frame.
  • Learn the principles of fixing anchors.
  • The external window sill must be installed under the window frame so that it has slight tilt directed outwards and does not cover the drain holes.
  • The internal window sill must be installed so that it sets under the window frame and is adjacent to the assembly profile.
  • When installing the windows, check whether they are properly located vertically, horizontally and parallel to the wall plane.
  • After completing all works, remove the protective foil securing the profiles. Do not delay its removal too long because external factors may make this process difficult later.
